AG PERFORMANCE / PRIVACY

PRIVACY POLICY.

How we use and protect the information you share with our workshop.

1. Who we are

AG Performance Ltd (“AG Performance”, “we”, “us”) operates an independent automotive workshop at 54 Great Northern Terrace, Lincoln, LN5 8HJ. We are responsible for deciding how we use personal information collected through our own website and in the course of providing workshop services (the “data controller”).

You can contact us about privacy by emailing ag.performance@outlook.com, calling 01522 519953, or writing to the workshop address above.

2. Information we collect

Depending on your contact with us, this may include:

  • Your name, telephone number, email address and preferred contact method.
  • Your vehicle registration, make and model, and details of faults, services or repairs you enquire about.
  • Booking details, quotations, authorisations, work carried out, vehicle service history, invoices and relevant correspondence when you use our services.
  • Technical information associated with using our website, such as browser details, IP address and information needed for security and operation, which may be processed by our hosting and service providers.

Please do not send us bank card information or unrelated sensitive personal information through the general enquiry form.

3. How we obtain and use information

We receive information when you complete our website enquiry form, contact us by telephone or email, use the online booking planner or deal with the workshop directly.

We use relevant information to respond to questions, prepare estimates, arrange appointments, diagnose and repair vehicles, maintain service records, administer payments and invoices, manage warranty or customer-service matters, and meet legal obligations.

We do not treat submitting a general website enquiry as permission to send you unrelated marketing emails. Any direct marketing must follow the applicable rules and provide an opt-out where required.

4. Our lawful reasons for using your data

Under UK data protection law, we rely on a lawful basis appropriate to the activity:

  • Contract or steps before a contract: responding to service enquiries, providing quotations, managing bookings and carrying out requested work.
  • Legitimate interests: keeping appropriate service and correspondence records, improving customer service, protecting our business and responding to complaints or disputes, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligations: maintaining accounting, tax and other records required by law, and responding to lawful requests.
  • Consent: where consent is specifically required, such as for certain cookies or marketing activities.

5. Who may receive your information

We only share information as needed to operate the garage, deliver the service you request or meet legal duties. Relevant recipients may include authorised workshop staff, providers of website hosting and enquiry management (including Wix), our email and IT services, online booking provider CarSys, accounting or payment service providers, professional advisers and authorities where required by law.

Our online booking planner is an embedded CarSys service. Details you enter into it may be handled by that provider to process your booking request. Opening external links, such as social media or Google Maps, takes you to those providers' own websites and privacy practices.

We do not sell customers' personal information.

6. Payment Assist

If you ask to spread the cost of eligible repair work through Payment Assist, information needed to discuss or arrange that option may be handled by Payment Assist and any relevant finance partners under their own privacy information. Please review the information provided during the finance process. Submitting our standard enquiry form is not a finance application.

7. How long we keep information

We retain information only for as long as necessary for the reason it was collected, including handling enquiries and bookings, providing and documenting repairs, responding to warranty or legal claims, and complying with tax and accounting requirements.

How long a particular record is needed depends on whether you become a customer, the nature of the work, any ongoing queries or warranty matters, and relevant legal record-keeping periods. When the information is no longer needed for these purposes, it should be deleted or anonymised securely.

8. Storage, security and international processing

We use business systems and third-party services to store and handle information. We take reasonable steps to limit access to those who need it and to protect customer records. Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom; where applicable, international transfers must be supported by appropriate legal arrangements. Contact us if you would like further information about relevant service providers or safeguards.

9. Cookies and embedded services

You can choose to accept or reject optional website features when you first visit, and change your choices using the Cookie settings link in the footer. We remember your choice in your browser for up to six months, after which we ask you again. We may ask sooner if the purposes of our optional technologies change. Until you allow embedded booking content, the CarSys booking iframe does not load inside the website. You can also use the separate booking link to go to CarSys directly.

Our website uses technology needed to provide its pages and handle enquiries. The enquiry system uses temporary browser storage to maintain a Wix visitor session during submission. Our online booking page includes an embedded CarSys planner, which may use cookies or similar technology. Wix and other connected services may also use cookies or technical identifiers.

Some cookies or similar technologies require information, consent or an opportunity to object under UK law, depending on their purpose. We review the technologies used on the website and provide appropriate controls where required. You can adjust settings in your browser, although blocking some technology may affect website features.

10. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis involved, you may have rights to access your personal information, ask us to correct it, request deletion or restriction, object to some uses, receive certain data in a portable form, or withdraw consent where we rely on it. These rights have legal conditions and exceptions.

To make a request or raise a concern, contact ag.performance@outlook.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.

11. Updates to this notice

We may update this notice if our website, suppliers, services or legal requirements change. The latest version will be available on this page, showing its update date.
